Full or partial denture wearers may be familiar with the discomfort caused by inadequate denture retention. The complete dentures are held in place by the vacuum force created between the interlocking surfaces in the mouth, this force is small and the slightest movement of the denture causes it to immediately cease and the denture to fall off. People who wear this type of dentures cannot eat certain foods or can only eat them with difficulty. The dentures take up a lot of space in the mouth, so they are difficult for many people to get used to, often triggering gagging when there is a strong pharyngeal reflex.

What is a Fixed denture?

Dental implants are a perfect way to fix dentures. Normal implants are not only suitable for fixing bridges and crowns, but also for “patent” or “fixed” dentures. The dentures that bounce on implants are so well anchored in the mouth that force is needed to remove them. With such an attachment, you no longer have to choose between different types of food or worry about your teeth falling out. With a sufficient number of implants, not only is the fixation improved, but the size of the denture is reduced and the plate covering the palate, which causes fist movement, can be omitted. Cleaning is very easy and convenient, as it can be easily bounced off.

How many implants are needed to fix the denture?

Two implants are enough to fix the denture, if the bone supply allows. We recommend four implants for a perfect fixation. Even in cases of advanced bone and gum atrophy, there is usually enough bone available to hold two implants.

We do not use Mini Implants.

To fix dentures, we don’t use the mini implants that are currently in fashion, because their durability is questionable. We have several types of well-proven traditional implant systems to choose from.
