Oral surgery
Oral surgery includes the activities of maxillofacial surgery that treat diseases, injuries, fractures and lesions of the soft tissues (gums, lips) of the teeth and jawbones. The most common interventions are:
- Tooth extraction – surgical removal of broken, retained roots
- Treatment of wisdom teeth, oral surgery, surgical removal of wisdom teeth – if the wisdom tooth is causing a problem
- Root-tip resection – retention and decalcification of teeth that cannot be treated sufficiently by root canal treatment or root filling
- Oral cyst surgery – eradication of benign masses in the jawbones and soft tissues of the mouth
- Closing the sinus
- Placement of dental implants
- Oral bone replacement surgery
- Diseases of the jaw joint, treatment of complaints of jaw joint dysfunction
Our experienced oral surgeons treat patients undergoing oral surgery with a high level of expertise and empathy.
In many cases, these procedures involve surgery performed under local anaesthesia. The injected anaesthetic can numb the tooth and the area around it so that the treatment is painless.
Bone replacement
Bone substitutes can be mineral-based, synthetic, animal-derived or derived from human tissue. The best choice for implants is bone substitute of human origin.
In our Dental Center, we use human bone substitute material during bone replacement at the same time as implantation. The bone substitute material of human origin means that the head of the femur is released when the hip prosthesis is implanted, which is approx. It can be imagined as a bone ball with a diameter of 5 cm. The bone replacement material is made from this bone ball - which is produced in different packages (granules, blocks, regular bodies of different sizes, etc.)
Patients waiting for hip surgery can become bone donors after careful screening. The extracted bone tissue is filtered and sterilised using a special technology, so that the bone substitute is used to provide a completely safe and sterile base for the implant.
The recovery time is shorter, there is better acceptance and integration and less chance of rejection.
